After Mac graduated, he went to work for Mountain States Telephone Company (later becoming Mountain Bell), working under his brother Ronnie. Jerry and Ronnie grew up on the ranch during the “Dam Days”: the construction of the Fort Peck Dam (1933-1940).īoth Ronnie and Mac graduated from Nashua High School and were stand-out athletes…excelling in both basketball and baseball. Ronald was born in 1929 and finally Mac in 1934. Mac’s sister, Phyllis, died in infancy, in 1927. He was the third child of Thomas and Leila (Copeland) McPherson. Mac was born in Glasgow and reared on the McPherson ranch in McCone County. Gerald Edwin McPherson (aka Jerry Mac) was born on February 16, 1934, and crossed over into eternity on October 9, 2023. Services will be held October 28th, 2pm at the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow with inurnment in Highland cemetery and a luncheon to follow at the Glasgow Elks Club. Her grandkids – Tessa, Lucas, Dylan, Kalynn, and Lauren – grew into adults and presented her with five great grandchildren.ĭorothy spent her last five years last few years at St. She loved it when they started showing up in the summer for a couple of weeks without parents. Her grandchildren became her priority as time passed. ![]() The one thing that trumped teaching was her care for her three boys: Jere, Gary, and Perry. She had 45 years of teaching service in Glasgow. She had a brief hiatus from teaching while bearing her children, but always returned to what she loved doing, teaching youth. She moved back to Glasgow, married John Kolstad, and began her teaching career. Kolstad proudly attended Montana State University, graduating in 1955 with a teaching degree. Dorothy’s parents raised eight kids in a three-bedroom, one bath home in Tampico. Dorothy Ann Kolstad, 90, peacefully passed away early on October 5th, 2023, at St John’s assisted living facility in Billings, MT.ĭorothy was born April 16th, 1933, in the Glasgow Hospital to Chris and Agnes Molvig.
